Prints Coming Out Blank
The printer seems to be working—pages are going through—but they’re coming out completely blank. This can be caused by ink, alignment, or software glitches.
Possible Causes:
- Empty or clogged ink cartridges
- Incorrect cartridge installation
- Printhead blockages
- Outdated printer firmware
- Using the wrong paper or print settings
DIY Solutions to Try:
- Check Ink or Toner Levels
Go to your printer’s settings to view ink status.
Replace any low or empty cartridges. - Run a Printhead Cleaning Cycle
Navigate to printer maintenance > select “Clean Printhead” or “Nozzle Check.”
Repeat the process 2–3 times if needed. - Ensure Cartridges Are Properly Installed
Open the printer, remove cartridges, and reinsert them until they click into place.
Make sure there’s no protective tape left on new cartridges. - Try a Test Page from the Printer Menu
This helps determine if the issue is in the printer or your document/software.
If the test page is also blank, it's likely a hardware or cartridge problem. - Reinstall or Update Printer Driver
A corrupt or outdated driver can miscommunicate print commands.
Visit the printer brand’s site to get the correct version.
Tips for the Future:
- Don’t leave your printer idle for long—print a page weekly to keep ink flowing.
- Store ink cartridges upright and in a cool place.
- Use quality paper and make sure you select the correct type in settings.
